Yoga and a hike

Sunday, 6/29, 11am @ Valley Gardens Park

"Yoga & A Hike" is a once a month get-together, locally, to enjoy a stroll in the woods, some yoga asana and/or meditation, build community, and taste some seasonally appropriate Ayurvedic goodies.

Join me as we explore nature within and all around at local parks in the Wilmington and surrounding areas. We will discuss topics pertaining to the season including ways to keep ourselves balanced, foods/beverages to favor vs. which to limit, and practices we may use to keep us grounded and warm all season long.  Along the way we will move through a short asana practice or a guided meditation practice (or both!!). Our time together will conclude with a yummy, warm, and nourishing Ayurvedic inspired snack and/or beverage.

This hike will be a moderate level and is generally suitable for novice hikers as the terrain will involve a some incline and may have some steeper sections. The hike will be a mix of trail and pavement. (Hikes are weather dependent. CHAI CHAT w/ NICOLE

Chai Chat w/ Nicole is a monthly informal (virtual via Zoom) gathering of like-minded individuals where we can learn about and discuss different topics, ask questions, interact, cook, and most importantly, build community! We will meet one Sunday each month to discuss various themes through the lens of Ayurveda and Yoga all while sipping chai (tea). Our time together will begin at 11am and will go anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours to ensure not only that we cover the content for that specific chat but also allowing for plenty of time for your burning questions. I’m super excited for us all to just sit, sip and chat!!

At the end of each quarter, in the spirit of "Seva", 25% of money collected from each chat will be donated to charity.  Seva, sanskrit for selfless service, is work done without any thought of reward or repayment and it is said to help ones spiritual growth as well as build and/or improve community. The funds will either go directly to a local cause/charity or will be used to purchase certain items that may be needed.

*See below for the topic description and/or for registration.

**Once you have registered you will receive an email with a Zoom link along with any handouts, recipe/ingredients list, and any info needed for our time together.

Vayus

 - Exploring the 5 Vayus w/ Anjali Sunita

Prana is the universal vital energy that permeates all things. Many of the functions in our body depend upon the free flow of prana through five primary currents, namely Prana-Vayu, Apana-Vayu, Samana-Vayu, Udana-Vayu, and Vyana-Vayu.

Learn briefly about the 5 vayus from the perspective of Ayurveda, why they are important, and engage together in an applied practice of pranayama designed to remove obstructions of these currents. You will be given time between each technique to share your experience, to feel the qualities and impacts of these techniques as to begin to distinguish the benefits of each technique before learning the benefits that are classically stated. This is an experiential workshop. It will welcome you into expanded awareness.

No experience is needed. Just a curious open mind and willingness to feel and participate.

As a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic consultant, and writer, Anjali shares globally with focus on tradition & accessibility. www.villagelifewellness.com

You may register through the link above however if you would like to donate straight to the selected charity, BMore Community Food, click this link  food4bmore.org , take a screen shot of your receipt, and email to me.  You will be send all pertinent info including zoom link for the chat.

**Please note the time change for this chat from the regular time of 11am EST to 4pm EST

*Once registered you will receive an email with ZOOM link as well as any other pertinent information for our time together.

Vandana will end the practice with a yoga nidra based final relaxation to allow you to truly integrate and embody these philosophies and teachings.

- Making Ashwaganda Infused Ghee w/ Heidi Audet

Join Heidi for another adventure in ghee-making- with a twist!

Ghee is nourishing and supportive to the tissues, and contains butyric acid, a fatty acid that has been shown to feed the large intestine. This golden elixir also acts as a transporter for Ayurvedic medicine. We will be creating Ashwaganda ghee!

Ashwaganda helps our minds and bodies build resilience to the stress and cold that winter often brings.  Join us for a Sunday adventure into herbal-infused ghee, and get yourself ready for feeling good as the season of Vata deepens.
